Bacolod police create task force vs vandals, offer P1,000 reward
BACOLOD CITY – A reward of P1,000 will be given to anyone who could provide information or photos of individuals committing vandalism in this city.

This was announced on Wednesday, April 3, by Police Col. Noel Aliño, Bacolod City police director, as he ordered police operatives to strictly implement City Ordinance 534 or the Anti-Vandalism Ordinance, following recent reports of traffic signages and wall of business establishments vandalized by unidentified individuals.
Aliño said they formed the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Anti-Vandalism Task Force led by Police Lt. Col. Lester Leada, chief of the BCPO Operation Management Unit, on Wednesday during their first virtual meeting with other BCPO personnel.
Discussed during the meeting were salient provisions of the ordinance, measures to be implemented by the task force, identification and filing of cases against vandals, and monitoring of interventions and accomplishments.
Based on the ordinance, penalties for such violation include a fine of P1,000 for the first offense, P3,000 for the second offense, and P5,000, plus imprisonment of not less than 30 days, but not more than six months, depending on the gravity of the infraction, to be determined by the court, for the third offense.
The ordinance also stated that violators aged 15 and below, civil liability will be shouldered by the parents, but those 15- to 18-years-old, will be made to restore the property and be required to render service to the school, if enrolled, or render community service to the barangay.
Aliño also said that they will utilize the “B-Plus" (LGBTQ+ for peace and order) to help clean vandalized walls and paint it accordingly for beautification.
