2 Quiboloy associates surrender in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – The two other accused linked to the controversial founder and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Pastor Apollo Quiboloy turned themselves in to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Davao City on Thursday, April 4.

Ingrid Canada and Jackielyn Roy surrendered a day after  authorities nabbed one of the pastor's associates, Cresente Canada, while her sister Paulene and Sylvia Cemañes surrendered to the NBI-Davao office in connection with a child abuse case.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-11 reported that Cresente voluntarily surrendered to the  NBI, PRO-11 Regional Intelligence and Detection Management Division (RIDMD), Calinan Police Station, Davao City Police Office (DCPO), and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at the Tamayong Barangay Hall in Barangay Calinan on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities anticipated the temporary release of Ingrid and Jackielyn from NBI custody, mirroring the action taken with the three other accused who posted bail on Wednesday afternoon after the court allowed them to pay P80,000 each.

Members of the PRO-11, along with other law enforcers, served the arrest warrants against Quiboloy and five other accused for violation of the Republic Act (RA) 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

PRO-11 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alden Delvo said the arrest warrants were served at Tamayong Prayer Mountain in Barangay Calinan and at Jose Maria College (JMC) in Barangay Sasa here and Purok 2 in Barangay Caliclic in Babak District of Garden City of Samal.

Quiboloy's legal counsel, Trinidad Arafol II, received the arrest warrants after the accused was not found at the three KOJC properties he owned.

Delvo assured that the Davao police will continue coordinating and cooperating with other law enforcement agencies in the pursuit of Quiboloy's arrest.

NBI-Davao Director Archie Albao said in an interview with One News that Quiboloy is considered a fugitive from justice after the authorities failed to arrest him based on two court warrants at his known address.

Judge Dante Baguio of the Regional Trial Court (RTC)-Branch 12 in the Davao region issued last month two arrest warrants for Quiboloy concerning distinct cases of sexual abuse and child abuse. His associates were implicated in the child abuse case.
