Suspension of face-to-face classes in Muntinlupa public schools extended


The Department of Education’s Schools Division Office (SDO) in Muntinlupa extended the suspension of face-to-face classes in public schools due to the extreme heat index forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

According to the Muntinlupa City government, face-to-face classes in public schools in the city are suspended on May 2 (Thursday) and May 3 (Friday). 

Instead, the Blended Learning Modality will be implemented in public schools from kindergarten to Grade 12. 

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) Program in Muntinlupa will also use Blended Learning Modality on May 4. 

The suspension of face-to-face classes in private schools is at the discretion of their administration. 

According to the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management, the heat index in the city reached 41 degrees Celsius at 3 p.m. on April 30.
