Pia Wurtzbach looks stunning in a Michael Cinco gown at Emi Gala 2024

The former Miss Universe is hailed as the Global Fashion Influencer of the Year

When it comes to show-stopping entrance, trust that Pia Wurtzbach can deliver. The former Miss Universe brought major style moments to this year’s Emi Gala. For over four years, the gala has recognized the works of personalities and creative forces of today’s fashion and beauty scene. This year, it honors Filipino beauty queen the Global Fashion Influencer of the Year award.

On the first day of the Emi Gala’s festivities, Pia brought drama to the event with her Carolina Herrera ensemble—a white flowy cape top paired with a classic pair of cigarette pants. Completing her look are Serpenti jewelry pieces courtesy of Bulgari.

During the awards night held at the Festival City Mall in Dubai, Pia received her trophy wearing a form-fitting black gown custom-made by Dubai-based Filipino couturier Michael Cinco, who also presented her the award. In her speech, the “Queen of the Universe” author talked about the magic of Dubai and the importance of using one’s influence for good.

“Dubai is a place where dreams can come true. I realized a few dreams living here in Dubai. I ran a marathon, I received an award for fashion, and I couldn’t be more grateful,” she said.

“Even though it is amazing to be glammed up, to be in the industry of beauty and fashion, what I want to remind other people and the people that look up to me is that to put purpose in the things that you do.” she continued. “It is great to be here, to be receiving an award. But it is also great to have an impact and purpose. So find your passion, find the advocacy that you really care about because this platform that we all have is truly powerful and sometimes we take that for granted.”

In the recent Milan Fashion Week, Pia is among the personalities who dominated social media. According to a report by influencer marketing platform Lefty.io, she snagged the 25th spot in its Top 30 Influencers at Milan Fashion Week SS24 list, with her posts gaining over 1.4 million earned media value (EMV), “a metric that quantifies the monetary value equivalent to the cost of achieving the same online visibility.”
