A peace and tourism covenant that symbolizes the collective resolve to promote peace and leverage tourism for economic prosperity was signed by the local chief executives and other officials.

The agreement underscores the stakeholders' determination to collaborate and foster an environment conducive to sustainable tourism and inclusive growth.

The event not only facilitated dialogue among leaders but also bolstered peace, security, and tourism initiatives in these towns.

It also provided a platform for sharing ideas, enhancing cooperation, and implementing projects for the region's benefit.

Former rebels also joined the peace rally and motorcade, reaffirming their commitment to peace and tourism advancement.

Meanwhile, the 74th Infantry (Unbeatable) Battalion disclosed that these towns in the second district of Northern Samar have experienced a notable transformation following the decline of the New People's Army (NPA).

The newfound stability catalyzed tourism growth in Mapanas, Palapag, Gamay, and Lapinig, stimulating economic opportunities and community development.
