The city government of Pasay distributed P2,000 financial assistance to 5,000 residents who belong to city’s vulnerable sectors on Tuesday, April 30, at the Pasay City Astrodome .

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubin said the financial aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was given to barangay health workers (BHW), members of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA), single parents, persons with disability (PWDs), street sweepers, and others who belong to vulnerable sectors.

Rubiano said the distribution of financial assistance was part of the program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr's. “Kadiwa ng Pangulo”, which sells affordable commodities.

She said Kadiwa's sale of commodities like dried fish, vegetables, sugar and other prime goods at lower prices is a big help to the residents since the costs of foods are getting high, including those that are being sold in the markets.

The mayor said that well-milled rice that can be bought in the markets at higher price is being sold in the “Kadiwa ng Pngulo" at P39 per kilo.
