8,054 QC residents benefit from QCPD's outreach programs
A total of 8,054 residents benefitted from the Quezon City Police District's (QCPD) community outreach programs aimed at expanding the public's knowledge on the different societal issues in the country.
QCPD Assistant Chief of the District Community Affairs and Development Division (DCADD) Lt. Col. Rommel Labalan said on Wednesday, April 3, that 61 community outreach programs spearheaded by the police force's different departments and sectors were successfully conducted from March 22 to March 28 this year.
"Throughout the week, highlighted activities include a series of lectures on Community Anti-Terrorism Awareness (CATA), Buhay Ingatan, Drogay Ayawan (BIDA) Program/Drug Awareness, Crime Prevention Safety Tips, the Safe Spaces Act, Bomb Awareness, Anti-Bullying, R.A. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children), and the Kapulisan Simbahan at Mamamayanan (KASIMBAYANAN)," QCPD said.
"Additionally, livelihood programs and medical missions were conducted, along with the distribution of IEC materials, food packs, hot meals, and PARAK newspapers to the beneficiaries," it added.
Labalan explained that these programs were designed to foster closer ties between the law enforcement and the community while also delivering essential services and promoting awareness of critical issues.
“As we reflect on the success of this initiative, let us reaffirm our commitment in serving the people of Quezon City with integrity, compassion, and excellence. Together, let us continue to build a safer, more resilient, and inclusive community for all,” QCPD Acting Director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan noted.
