Marcos, VP Duterte get high ratings in latest RPMD survey

President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte both topped the latest "Boses ng Bayan" national survey for the first quarter of 2024, the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) said on Thursday, April 4.

The independent and non-commissioned survey, conducted between March 18 and 23, aims to provide “an insightful analysis of the trust and approval ratings of the highest-ranking officials in the Philippine government.”
According to RPMD’s statement, Marcos continues to enjoy a trust rating of 79 percent and an approval rating of 76 percent, while Duterte got a 77 percent trust rating and a 74 percent job satisfaction rating.
Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri received a trust rating of 73 percent and an approval rating of 70 percent, while House Speaker Martin Romualdez garnered a 75 percent trust rating an a 72 percent approval rating.
The statement said that the results of the survey “reveals a positive perception among the Filipino populace towards their leaders.”
Marcos’ trust ratings were highest in Balance of Luzon at 86 percent, followed by the Visayas region at 75.1 percent, the National Capital Region at 73.3 percent, and Mindanao at 71.7 percent.
The same pattern was observed in his approval ratings—Balance of Luzon, 81.6 percent; National Capital Region, 72.1 percent; Visayas, 71.9 percent; and Mindanao, 70.6 percent.
Duterte’s trust ratings, on the other hand, were solid in her bailiwick of Mindanao, 88 percent; Visayas, 74.7 percent; Balance of Luzon, 73.6 percent; and National Capital Region, 71.7 percent.
Her approval ratings “followed a similar geographical distribution”—Mindanao, 82.1 percent; Visayas, 72.4 percent; Balance of Luzon, 71.5 percent; and National Capital Region, 70 percent.
Both chambers of Congress also received positive ratings from the public, with the Senate getting a trust rating of 83 percent and a job approval rating of 80 percent and the House of Representatives garnering a trust rating of 78 percent and a job satisfaction rating of 75 percent.
Dr. Paul Martinez, RPMD Global Affairs Analyst and Executive Director, promised that the organization will continue to play its role as a conduit for the "voice of the people" to leaders.
The "Boses ng Bayan" surveyed 10,000 adults chosen randomly from a pool of 67.75 million registered voters.
According to the statement, this methodology “ensured a nationally representative sample, with regional distributions reflecting official voter statistics.”
It claims that the survey has a precise margin of error at +/-1% and a confidence level of 95 percent.
