ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo City Police Office seized suspected shabu valued at P6.4 million in buy-bust operations in the last two weeks of March.

Police Col. Joeresty Coronica, ICPO chief, said shabu worth P1.53 million was recovered from a suspected drug pusher on Good Friday.
The suspect, Rodney, was caught by the ICPO-Police Station 5 in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao District after he sold a sachet of shabu worth P17,000 to an undercover police officer.
The ICPO-Station 5 was assisted by the ICPO-City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU).
On March 21, shabu valued at more than P1 million was seized in Barangay San Juan, Molo District by the CDEU led by Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr.
A total of 17 drug suspects were arrested in 13 anti-drug operations here from March 16 to 31.
Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson, said the ICPO also caught 21 individuals in six operations against illegal gambling during that period.
Two persons were nabbed for illegal possession of firearms in three operations. Two firearms were confiscated and another was surrendered.
Police warned 8,341 persons for violating city ordinances and 206 persons were fined.
