'Holy Week in Region 2 peaceful'

CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Police Regional Office-2 declared that the Holy Week in Region 2 or the Cagayan Valley region was generally peaceful.

PRO-2 chief Police Brig. Gen. Christopher C. Birung lauded law enforcers for their selfless service and devotion to duty during the Holy Week.

“I commend your unwavering devotion to duty, particularly this Lenten season. May you never falter in upholding your sworn responsibilities in keeping our community peaceful and safe,” Birung said.

Birung credited the peaceful Holy Week to the strict implementation of various security and preventive measures.

The Regional Operations Division recorded zero incidents for index crimes such as physical injuries, murder, homicide, and rape.

Drowning incidents decreased by 80 percent as there were only seven this year compared to 35 in the previous year.

Birung directed his men to continue implementing security measures for the “summer” vacation when an influx of people coming in and out of the region is expected.
