BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Albee Benitez has extended the suspension of face-to-face classes on all levels here to April 3 and 4 due to extreme heat that has reached 40 degrees Celsius.

Benitez encouraged schools to adopt alternative delivery modes of instruction to benefit their students.
He said that private schools with airconditioned rooms and tertiary-level institutions may exercise their discretion to continue face-to-face classes.
The cities of Talisay and Silay and the town of E.B. Magalona in Negros Occidental also extended the suspension of the face-to-face classes on Wednesday, April 3.
In Bago City, acting Mayor Ramon Torres issued Executive Order No. 26 authorizing local school heads, principals, and administrators to suspend face-to-face classes and shift to blended or distance learning modalities on all levels in public and private schools in the event of unfavorable weather and environmental conditions at their discretion from April 3 to 8.
Face-to-face classes here and in some parts of the province were cancelled starting April 1 and other local government units have resumed their classes after a two-day suspension.
