It’s official: “Queen of Tears” is now the highest rated cable TV drama on Korean network tvN.
“Queen of Tears,” starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, has surpassed the rating of the 2020 hit series “Crash Landing on You,” which starred Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin.

The Saturday-Sunday drama set the new record through its 16th and final episode on April 28.
According to polling firm Nielsen Korea, “Queen of Tears” episode 16 on April 28 got a nationwide rating of 24.85 percent, its highest to date. It was watched by 6.39 million people.
This eclipsed the nationwide rating “Crash Landing on You,” which got 21.683 percent for its 16th and final episode on Feb. 16, 2020.
With this, “Queen of Tears” has achieved the record for the highest drama rating on tvN.
In addition, the 24.85 percent also surpassed the rating of channel JTBC’s drama “Sky Castle” of 23.779 percent.
This made “Queen of Tears” the third highest rated drama on cable TV overall in South Korea.
In the metropolitan area (Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi) on April 28, “Queen of Tears” episode 16 received a rating of 28.381 percent (first place). It was watched by 3.43 million people.
