P19.6-M shabu, marijuana seized in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera seized P19.6 million worth of shabu and marijuana in a week-long operation from April 22 to 28.

The Regional Operations Division said  eight suspected drug pushers were arrested and recovered from them were 52.86 grams of suspected shabu and 4,000.76 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops valued at P839,539.20.

The Baguio City Police Office arrested four followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office and Kalinga PPO with two arrests each. Four suspects were high-value individuals and four were street-level individuals.

Found in six marijuana eradication operations conducted in Benguet and Kalinga were 17,350 fully grown marijuana plants and 128,025 grams of dried marijuana stalks and fruiting worth P18.8 million.

These were burned following proper documentation and follow-up operations are being conducted to locate other marijuana plantation sites in the region and apprehend cultivators.
