The local government of Navotas City announced on Monday, April 29, that it will adopt a new work schedule starting May 2.

In accordance with Metropolitan Manila Council (MMC) Resolution No. 24-08, series of 2024, Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco has signed Executive Order (EO) No. JRT-016 changing the working hours in the city government from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

“Apart from helping ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila, this change in work schedule will also give workers more time to spend with their families or pursue other meaningful endeavors,” Tiangco said.
According to the city’s public information office, the department, offices, and units with rotating schedules such as traffic management, emergency response and preparedness, and peace and order are not covered by the EO to ensure uninterrupted public services.

Meanwhile, the coaches of NavotaAs Scholarship Program will also maintain their schedule along with the classes of the Navotas Polytechnic College and the Navotas Vocational Training and Assessment (NAVOTAAS) Institute.

In addition, the health center in Barangay Tanza 2 and the Navotas City Hospital will operate on their usual work schedule.

The city mayor urged all the barangays in the city to modify their respective working hours in line with the MMC resolution.
