Kapuso star Sofia Pablo turns 18, saves for another investment

Kapuso star Sofia Pablo has turned 18, and she couldn't be more grateful for the advice she got from veteran stars.

During a press conference for her birthday in Quezon City recently, Sofia shared inspiring advice she got from fellow stars.

"Ang tumatak talaga sa mga advice na binigay sa akin ng mga veteran stars is to respect your co-actors and keep your feet on the ground.

(What really struck me about the advice given to me by the veteran stars was to respect your co-actors and keep your feet on the ground.)

"Ang daming magaling umarte pero hindi lahat magaling makisama. Parang they are saying mahalaga ang attitude kesa sa talent.

(There are many good actors, but not all are good at dealing with other people. It's like they are saying attitude is more important than talent.)

"Ang talent kasi naho-hone yun eh. Yung ugali yun na talaga. So sabi nila wag daw ako magbabago. Respect yung mga nasa paligid mo. Hindi mo alam the next day magiging director na pala yun. So huwag kang manlalait ng tao sa set kahit sino pa yun. Always respect others," Sofia said.

(The attitude cannot be honed, but talent can be developed. Respect the people around you. You never know the next day that person will become a director. Regardless of their identity, it is important to treat everyone with kindness and respect while on the set.)

Sofia, best known for her role in the Kapuso afternoon series "Prima Donnas," turned 18 on April 10. Now that she's a year older, Sofia said there would be changes in her career and personality.

"Now that I am 18, it's time for my personal growth. Alam ko na magiging malawak na yung career ko sa mga roles, sa mga projects. Kasi noon sinasabi nila hindi pa ako 18 at hindi pa ako. bagay sa ganitong project.

(Now that I am 18, it's time for my personal growth. I know that my career will change in terms of roles, and projects. When I was under 18, I was not suitable for certain projects.)

"Ma-mi-miss ko yung pagiging makulit ko kasi dapat ngayon ang kilos ko mas mature at ladylike. Mamimiss ko yung pagiging playful ko," she said.

(I will miss my playful nature because my behavior should be more mature and ladylike.)

Sofia said her parents remind her to choose a boyfriend who also respects parents.

"My parents are very cool. I remember sinabi nila sa akin dapat kapag may boyfriend ka na, may respeto rin sa parents. Kapag may respeto ang guy sa parents, he will respect you also. Kung paano nila tratuhin ang parents nila ganun din ang trato nila sayo," the young star said.

(My parents are very cool. I was told that my boyfriend should respect my parents. When a guy respects his parents, he will respect you, too. How they treat their parents is the same as how they treat you.)

Sofia gifted herself a brand-new car before her birthday. Now that she has a car, Sofia said she's saving for another wise investment. "Pag-iipunan ko naman ngayon ang magkaroon ang house." (Now I will save up to have the house.)
