Heat index in 36 areas may reach ‘dangerous’ levels on April 29


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said 36 areas in the country may experience “dangerous” heat index on Monday, April 29.

PAGASA said a heat index of 47°C may be felt in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, while Aparri, Cagayan may have a heat index of 46°C.

PAGASA may also record a heat index of 45°C in Laoag City,  Ilocos Norte; Bacnotan, La Union; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Isabela State University (ISU) in Echague, Isabela; and Baler, Aurora. 

A heat index of 44°C may be felt in Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Casiguran, Aurora; Coron, Palawan; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Aborlan, Palawan; and Dumangas, Iloilo. 

In Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City; Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) in Batac, Ilocos Norte; Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) in  Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Virac, Catanduanes; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Guiuan, Eastern Samar; and Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, a heat index of 43°C may be felt. 

A heat index of 42°C may be experienced in Science Garden in Quezon City; Iba, Zambales; Clark Airport, Pampanga; Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo; Sangley Point, Cavite; Legazpi City, Albay, Central Bicol State University (CBSUA) in Pili, Camarines Sur; Roxas City, Capiz; Mambusao, Capiz; La Granja, La Carlota, Negros Occidental; Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte; Davao City, Davao del Sur; and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
