The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the public on Monday, April 29, against the purchase and use of counterfeit Human Tetanus Immunoglobulin (Tetagam® P) 1 ml (250 IU) solution for injection.

It cautioned healthcare professionals and the general public about the dangers posed by this counterfeit drug product circulating in the market.
Consumers are reminded also to obtain medications only from FDA-licensed establishments to ensure safety and efficacy.
Additionally, establishments are warned against selling or dispensing the counterfeit product, as such actions violate Republic Act No. 9711 and Republic Act No. 8203, pertaining to drug regulation and counterfeit drug laws.
Penalties will be imposed on individuals found selling the counterfeit drug products, according to the FDA.
The agency also mentioned that Local Government Units and Law Enforcement Agencies are urged to collaborate in preventing the sale and distribution of this illicit product within their jurisdictions.
