ILOILO CITY – Gov. Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao said Mayor Ernesto Tajanlangit of Tobias Fornier, Antique allegedly punched Vice Mayor Jojo Fornier over the distribution of food packs.

Cadiao said the incident happened on Monday morning, April 29.
Citing reports, Cadiao said that Tajanlangit waited for the vice mayor in a police checkpoint. The mayor ordered the food packs confiscated and punched the vice mayor.
“The vice mayor was hit in his jaw,” Cadiao said. “This is an isolated incident, but this should not happen as the province is under a state of calamity for El Niño,” Cadiao said.

Cadiao said the vice mayor requested assistance for food packs to be distributed to constituents who allegedly did not get aid from the mayor.
She said the food packs were from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) allocated for Antique.
Cadiao urged other mayors and vice mayors in Antique to remain calm and avoid political grudges as the province is under a state of calamity due to El Niño.
