The non-profit organization Pinoy Aksyon (Pilipino Aksyon for Governance and the Environment), in collaboration with the writers’ collective KM64, presents “#SanaOil," an event aimed at raising the Filipino public's awareness of the ongoing sovereignty issues in the West Philippine Sea. 

The event features a spoken word slam competition, performances of songs, dances and flash mobs, and brings together multi-talented artists in creative expression to support the West Philippine Sea.

Set on Sunday, April 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the historic Kartilya ng Katipunan in Manila, at the Manila City Hall area, Manila, SanaOil promises to be an immersive experience blending entertainment with information. 

With flash mob dances, spoken word poetry, live music, and theatrical performances, SanaOil offers attendees a unique platform to be informed about the crucial issues surrounding Philippine sovereignty.

“We know this is not the first of its kind of actions, and we hope this is not the last, but rather a continuing endeavor among artists and sectors until our waters in the West Philippine Sea are at peace and our fisherfolks are threat-free in exercising their fishing rights,” Pia Montalban of KM64 adds.

Highlighted during the event is the Spoken Word Slam Competition where contestants  deliver through original prose and poetry original arguments on the theme “Atin ang #TubigatLangis sa West Philippine Sea! Atin and West Philippine Sea!” The competition “Atin ang Pinas!” serves as an avenue for individuals to express their patriotism and call for action.

The event also showcases the Sabayang Bigkas featuring KM64 artists with performances by the Kalipaya Theatre Group, Jong Madaliday, Fifty Per Hour, Tanghalang Bagong Sibol Theater and Dance Company, Chiang Lion & Dragon Dance, Hype Dancers and Justine Taller. The event is hosted by Drag Race Philippines Season 1 Miss Congeniality, Lady Morgana. 

SanaOil is mounted by PinoyAksyon, a volunteer organization dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship, freedom of expression, and defending Philippine sovereignty, together with KM64 (Kilometre 64), an artistic group focused on spreading patriotism while drawing lessons from Filipino history, the event strives to mobilize public support for the protection of national territories.
