Pimentel condemns killing of 14-year-old student in Cebu, calls for immediate probe

“We condemn this heinous act in the strongest possible terms and call upon the authorities to expedite their investigation to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice,” Pimentel said in a statement on Saturday, April 27.

“I and Kat Pimentel extend our deepest condolences and offer prayers for the family of the victim,” he added.

Police said the victim, Jacquilene Reponte, was answering her modules when a gunman barged in, and without a word, shot her in the face.

The still unidentified suspect fled after the incident while the victim was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead.

Police are still investigating the motive of the crime.
