The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines following the 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Japan on Saturday, April 27.
The tremor occurred at 4:35 p.m. in Bonin Islands in Japan Region, said Phivolcs.
Phivolcs said the earthquake had a depth of 538 kilometers (km).
“There is no tsunami threat exists based on available data,” Phivolcs said.
It also said there is “no action required” from the said happening.
