The city government of Las Piñas celebrated the Solo Parents Week last April 19 with a volleyball league held at the Verdant covered court in Barangay Pamplona Tres.
The volleyball league was sponsored by Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice-Mayor April Aguilar as part of the celebration that carried the theme "Solo Parent na Rehistrado, Sa Gobyerno Tiyak na Protektado.”
Aguilar said the event, which was participated by around 300 solo parents from 20 barangays of Las Piñas, aimed at promoting physical wellness and community bonding.
Vice-Mayor April underscored the societal and familial contributions of solo parents.
Organized by the City Social Welfare and Development, the event reflects the local government's ongoing efforts to fully integrate solo parents into social and community activities, providing them not only recognition but also practical support through legislative and local initiatives.
