Hontiveros lauds PNP for revoking Quiboloy’s firearms license

Senator Risa Hontiveros on Friday, April 26 lauded the Philippine National Police (PNP) for finally revoking Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy’s firearms permit.

“Salamat sa agarang pagtugon ng PNP sa panawagan kong tanggal-lisensya sa armas ni Quiboloy (I thank the PNP for immediately heeding the call to revoke the firearms owned by Quiboloy). I commend PNP Chief Rommel Marbil for heeding this call,” Hontiveros said in a statement.

“Tiyakin din sana ng PNP na walang mga armas niya ang maiwan sa mga miyembro niya (I hope the PNP also ensures that no firearms will be left from among his members),” she said.

Hontiveros said it is fully necessary for the PNP to step in and dissolve Quiboloy’s private army.

Despite this latest development, the senator said she hopes that the PNP would enforce Quiboloy’s immediate arrest considering he is facing criminal cases both in the Philippines and the United States.

“Harinawa, maaresto na si Quiboloy sa lalong madaling panahon (Finally, I hope Quiboloy is arrested at the soonest time possible). He continues to mock our institutions,” she said.

“Kamakailan lang nagpalabas nanaman siya ng audio recording kung saan nagbigay pa siya ng bugtong tungkol sa location niya (Just recently, he released an audio recording where he dropped hints about his present location),” she pointed out.

“Matapos nilang pagdiskitahan ang Senado bilang institusyon, ngayon naman, ang ating kapulisan ang iniinsulto. Hindi tayo papayag na pagmukhain niya tayong tanga (After ridiculing the Senate as an institution, now, he is insulting our law enforcers. We won’t allow him to make us look like fools),” she stressed.
