Elderly found dead inside apartment in Manila

The body of a 65-year-old man who has reportedly been dead for two days was found inside his apartment room in Sampaloc, Manila on Friday morning, April 26. 

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the deceased as Elmer Ramirez, a resident on the third floor of an apartment in Barangay 450, Sampaloc. 

Authorities said that the deceased was discovered by the other tenants of the apartment when they started to smell foul odor emanating from inside the man's room. 

Ramirez's body was found lying on his bed and fully naked, police said. 

A sari-sari store owner said that she last saw the man alive when he went to her store at around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 

The witness also told the police that the man had difficulty in breathing and was pale while he was buying items from her store.

Meanwhile, the man's sister said that he was supposed to be scheduled for a check-up on April 24. 

The MPD's homicide section is investigating the case.
