Scattered rain showers to affect parts of Mindanao due to ITCZ

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, April 25 said rain showers may continue to affect parts of Mindanao due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ)—a region in the equator where the winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge.

PAGASA said Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi may have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

It warned of flash floods or landslides that may occur in these areas during moderate to heavy rains. 

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may persist in the rest of the country due to the easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean. 

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may also occur during severe thunderstorms. 

Based on PAGASA’s extended weather outlook from April 26 to 28, the actual air temperatures in some key areas will be 25–36°C in Metro Manila, 26-38°C in Tuguegarao City, 26-33°C in Legazpi City, 18–27°C in Baguio City, 27–33°C in Metro Cebu, 27–33°C in Iloilo City, 27–33°C in Tacloban City, 25–34°C in Metro Davao, 25–35°C in Zamboanga City, and 26–32°C in Cagayan de Oro City.
