A magnitude 5 earthquake jolted Davao Oriental at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs located the earthquake’s epicenter 90 kilometers (km) northeast of Baganga, Davao Oriental.
It was initially recorded at magnitude 5.4.
The tremor with a depth of 17 km was tectonic or caused by the movement of an active fault near the area, said Phivolcs.
It noted that there was no damage to property, but aftershocks may occur.
