A woman who sold a stolen vehicle to a man was arrested by Pasay City police operatives on Tuesday, April 23.
Pasay City police chief Col. Mario Mayanes identified the suspect as alias Abegail, 31, of Cadena de Amor St., Maricaban, Pasay City.
She was nabbed on complaints of alias Kingfahad, a resident of Purok 3 Maunlad, Apopong, Gen. Santos, South Cotabato.
The victim told police that the suspect, who introduced herself as alias Lyka, sold to him a Toyota Fortuner for P900,000 on March 19.
The city police chief said the victim learned on March 21 that the vehicle sold to him was carnapped in Laong Laan, Manila, and the documents presented to him by the suspect were all falsified and involved in a "rent-tangay" modus.
The victim posted the photograph and identification card of the suspect on his Facebook page and, with the help of the concerned citizens, he was able to locate the address of the suspect leading to her arrest.
Kingfahad brought the victim to the Pasay Police Substation 7 at around 1:20 p.m. on April 23 and filed a complaint against her.
Mayames said the suspect was detained at the police custodial facility after her arrest and was charged with estafa and concealing true name.
