Philippine Navy ship Ladislao Diwa bolsters Eastern Mindanao security


DAVAO CITY – A Philippine Navy ship arrived here on Tuesday afternoon, April 23, to bolster security in Eastern Mindanao.

Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Magno, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao commander Commodore Alfonspin Tumanda Jr., and Eastern Mindanao Command acting commander Brig. Gen. Consolito Yecla welcomed the BRP Ladislao Diwa when it arrived at the Naval Station Felix Apolinario in Barangay Panacan.

BRP Ladislao Diwa, an Alvarez-class patrol vessel and the Philippine Navy’s third ship of the class, is equipped to conduct full maritime patrols, engage in surface battles using its naval weaponry, and carry out search and rescue missions.

Magno said the arrival of the BRP Ladislao Diwa will boost the morale of the NFEM. He thanked the leadership of the Philippine Navy for bringing the BRP Ladislao Diwa to Eastern Mindanao.

The Cabinet Officer for Regional Developments and Security (CORDS) vowed to cooperate with the NFEM to ensure the country’s safety.
