Manila to launch '2024 Labor Day Job Fair' on May 1

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said the city will launch the "2024 Labor Day Job Fair" on May 1.
She said the celebration will be highlighted by the provision of jobs for Manileños who are unemployed.
The activity will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 1 at the San Andres Sports Complex, Malate, Manila.
Around 65 local employers will be participating to offer almost 9,000 job vacancies.
The project, she said, is apart from the "KADIWA ng Pangulo," and TESDA Skills Demonstration.
The mayor said that there will also be a one-stop-shop to help provide the jobseekers with the required documents from SSS, Pag-Ibig, PhilHealth, BIR, Certificate from Manila Police District, NBI, OWWA, DTI and PSA, among others.
Mounted by the Manila City government, through its Public Employment Service Office, the activity will also be held in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region.
The local chief executive said the applicants must bring at least 10 copies of their resume, own pen, and drinking water to protect themselves against dehydration.
They were also advised to make sure that they have eaten before lining up for the job fair to enable them to handle their interviews well.
