The Parañaque City government announced on Wednesday, April 24, the suspension of face-to-face (F2F) classes in all levels in public and private schools from April 25 to 26.
Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez issued the order after the city's Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) issued an advisory that the city will experience extreme heat index as forecasted by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Olivarez said to avoid exposing students to extreme heat, school authorities were advised to shift to online modality or asynchronous on the said dates.
The mayor also told the residents to avoid too much exposure to the sun as it may cause heat stroke and other heat-related illness.
