Angat Dam could reach its 180-meter minimum operating level by end-May
Due to the lack of rain in the watershed area, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the water level in Angat Dam may reach 180.5 meters by the end of May.

PAGASA said Angat Dam will need 676 millimeters of rain in May to reach its normal high water level of 212 meters.
However, it noted that the rainfall forecast for May in Norzagaray, Bulacan is only 171.7 millimeters.
Angat Dam is the major water source for Metro Manila.
Based on PAGASA’s latest monitoring, the water level in Angat Dam fell from 190.96 meters on April 23 to 190.54 meters on April 24.
Other major dams in Luzon have also steadily decreased in recent weeks.
PAGASA said San Roque Dam in Pangasinan may reach a water level of 244.7 meters, with a rainfall forecast of 234.4 millimeters by the end of May.
It added that the Pangasinan dam will require 1,428 millimeters of rain to reach its normal high water level of 280 meters.
Moreover, the expected water level for May at Pantabangan Dam in Nueva Ecija is 179.3 meters, with a rainfall forecast of 199.3 millimeters.
PAGASA also said the water level at Magat Dam in Isabela is expected to be 193.7 meters with 206.8 millimeters of rainfall in May.
