Rein Entertainment's director Philip King excited for 'Elevator' and 'G! LU' this April 24

Director Philip King is set to debut not one but two films this April 24, 2024. The coincidental theatrical release of the two films marks a significant milestone in King's journey as a writer-director. 

King is a writer-director under Rein Entertainment. He was a scriptwriter for ABS-CBN for over 10 years, writing numerous top-rating primetime shows such as Noah, Budoy, Juan Dela Cruz, Katorse, Kapitan Inggo, and Sana Maulit Muli.

He has also written and directed Tencent Pictures’ first Filipino Original Series, the youth-oriented drama mystery “Section St. Valentine: The Disappearance of Divine" streaming on WE TV, and is co-creator of the critically acclaimed TV Series “Bagman”.

Rein Entertainment’s Elevator, an International co-production with Viva Entertainment, Cineko Productions, WASD Media Productions, and Dogma Films are starred by Paulo Avelino and Kylie Verzosa together with an International Cast – Singaporean Actor Adrian Pang and an ensemble of talented actors.

It is a modern-day love story about two hard-working, career-driven Filipinos in Singapore. When their paths cross, they must choose between love and achieving their dreams. The film offers audiences a poignant narrative set against the vibrant backdrop of Singapore. Shot in a hotel populated by migrant workers, this modern love story is a must-watch cinematic experience.

ALV Films’ G!LU, produced with Bench and Rein Entertainment, is a much-awaited 2024 summer movie starring some of the country’s hottest young stars, Ruru Madrid, Derrick Monasterio, and David Licauco, together with Kiko Estrada, Teejay Marquez, Enzo Pineda, Katarina Rodriguez, Kimi Mugford, Sophia Senoron, Michelle Dee, and Chanel Morales. The movie is about their last days of summer – to push their limits and be wild and free. 

For the six members of the VBC (Valley Boys Crew), this is a trip to strengthen their friendship and live their best life. Shot against the stunning backdrop of La Union's beaches, this pre-pandemic production features the hottest bench models and promises to be the must-see summer movie of 2024.

With its celebration of friendship, freedom, adventure, and the pursuit of living life to the fullest, "G! LU" invites audiences to embark on a wild journey of surf, waves, hookups, and unforgettable parties.

Aside from Elevator and G! LU, Rein Entertainment co-produces “The Bagman” with ABS-CBN, International, Dreamscape Entertainment, and Nathan Studios. Rein Entertainment’s Lino Cayetano, King, and Shugo Praico firmly believe in collaborating through co-productions.

Rein Entertainment had its first theatrical release last Metro Manila Film Festival 2022, for the film, Nanahimik ang Gabi won four National Awards in the Asian Academy Creative Awards, including Best Screenplay and Best Feature Film. They encourage people to watch and enjoy the intimate and cinematic experience of "Elevator" and "G! LU”, both written and directed by King.
