These changes solidify its position as a top choice for enthusiasts seeking a blend of excitement and practicality in a sports car. One of the notable updates is the introduction of seven variants for the 2024 model year, offering customers a range of options to suit their preferences. With prices starting at ₱2,230,000, the MX-5 remains accessible to a wide audience while delivering an exhilarating driving experience.

Under the hood, the MX-5 retains its naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G engine, producing 184-PS at 7,000 rpm and 205-Nm at 4,000 rpm. However, the sound experience is enhanced with the introduction of a new feature that channels engine noise directly into the cabin, providing drivers with a more immersive auditory experience.

These enhancements, combined with a revised electric power steering system, result in a more engaging and connected driving experience.

“Actually, inspiration for designing this MX-5 Miata Cup is from the history of motorsports of Mazda itself. We all know that Mazda has a deep history with racing. Started with the RX-3 Savanas in Japan, in IMSA, the Daytona RX-7 GTOs. Their livery is not that extravagant. It's simple. So too, nowadays, the Super Taikus and Mazda 3, I got inspiration from them. So, the colors and the shapes that you see now in the MX-5 are reminiscent of that. Very solid shapes, bold colors, a little bit of modern touches, such as the, you will see at the rear, there are what I call the blades. I put that just to amplify the shape of the rear. And, on the front, you will see what I call is the brow, the unibrow. It's to amplify the shape of the front, the hood. So, yeah, I'm really honored to be able to work on this project. So, I'm, because, and most and foremost, I'm a fan. I'm a fan of motorsports, I'm a fan of cars, and I'm a fan of Mazda,” Evangelista reveals.

Available in three distinct colorways, each unit comes with unique decals and accents that highlight its racing pedigree. Along with the purchase, the customer also gets to pick their number, which, only upon delivery, will be applied to the car.

Equipped with performance features such as Dynamic Stability Control with Track Mode (DSC-Track) and Asymmetric Limited Slip Differential (A-LSD), this special edition MX-5 delivers exhilarating performance on the track. One interesting item about the limited-edition MX-5 is that Mazda has disabled the Smart City brakes, giving the car a more raw feel, without sacrificing safety.

Despite its racing focus, the MX-5 Miata Cup 23rd Anniversary Edition retains modern amenities such as an 8.8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay, ensuring a comfortable and connected driving experience both on and off the track.

Priced at ₱2,230,000, the MX-5 Miata Cup 23rd Anniversary Edition is a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of the Miata Cup and Mazda's commitment to motorsports excellence.
