Lady Anne Duya, a resident of Porac, Pampanga, has made her tribe proud by becoming the first female Aeta to pass the February 2024 Criminologist Licensure Examination (CLE).

Lady Anne reportedly belongs to the native Mag-indi or Mag-antsi tribe. According to the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), the Ayta Mag-antsi and Mag-indi reside in the middle part of the Zambales Mountains, mainly in Pampanga. She was among the scholars of the NCIP Pampanga and her provincial government.

She completed her Criminology degree at Central Luzon College of Science and Technology in July 2023.

Lady Anne is one of 15,684 individuals who passed the board exam out of 32,495. The results were announced by the Professional Regulation Commission on March 6, 2024.

“Salamat Guino, Keka ngan ing kapurihan (Thank you, O God, for all the glory),” she said in her Facebook post. “From degree holder to registered criminologist.”

Also notable was Dexter Santos Valenton, who became the first Aeta person to pass the Criminology board exam in January.
