Ex-Tuguegarao mayor gives free cold water, ice cubes amid extreme heat

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Former Mayor Jefferson Soriano here distributed free water and ice cubes to residents passing through Mabini St. on an extremely hot Monday, April 22.

FORMER Mayor Jefferson Soriano distributes free water and ice cubes to residents amid the extreme heat in Tuguegarao City on April 22.

"It is important that we stay hydrated because of the extremely hot weather. To those passing by, just bring your own tumbler," Soriano said.

He reminded the people to be protected from extreme heat.

The heat index here peaked at 44 degrees Celsius on April 4, categorized by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration under the danger level.

Health officials advised residents to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and avoid and limit Sun exposure especially from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
