Pasay BFP: NAIA parking lot fire damage estimated at P20 million

The Pasay Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire in an outdoor pay parking area at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 left around P20 million in damages.
According to SFO1 Rezmond Germino, 19 vehicles were burned and while another one was partially damaged during the fire.
Gemino said investigation is ongoing to determine the real cause of the grass fire that broke out at 1:35 p.m. on Monday, April 22.
He said they are trying to establish whether the grass fire was caused by the extreme heat being experienced in the city or by a lighted cigarette butt accidentally thrown into the place.
The BFP said two fire trucks immediately responded and placed the grass fire under control at around 2:03 p.m.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported a dangerous heat index of 42 degrees Celsius in the area of NAIA, Pasay City.
