The First Couple treated themselves to a Jollibee chickenjoy dinner, drawing inspiration from New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon who visited the Philippines recently and made the famous fastfood chain his first stop.

“The recent stop of PM Luxon of New Zealand to Jollibee reminded me how long it’s been since we’ve eaten there so . . . the FL Liza and I are having a delicious Jollibee dinner tonight,” President Marcos wrote on Sunday, April 21.
Lamenting that his nutritionist won’t be happy with his choice of dinner, the President jokingly told her “to direct her concerns to PM Luxon.”
“Thank you PM Luxon for the inspiration!,” he posted on his Facebook page.
During Luxon’s visit last week, Marcos called him an “honorary Filipino” for stopping by a Jollibee branch and ordering the famous deep-fried breaded chicken.
“It was the chicken joy. I got a (chicken) for my wife, daughter. I had to tried that. We did that,” the Prime Minister told Marcos during their meeting.
Jollibee, the country’s largest fast food chain, has branches all over the country and in key cities around the world.
Foreign influencers and celebrities have also tried the chickenjoy in the past to varying reactions and appreciation.
