“These posts are illegally using the DepEd seal and the photo of the Vice President and Secretary of Education Sara Z. Duterte to scam people,” DepEd said in an advisory on misinformation alert.

DepEd referred to fake scholarship posts circulating online and targeting parents and learners.

“Parents and guardians are strongly advised not to give out their children’s school information and identification to these kinds of hideous posts so as not to compromise their security,” DepEd said.

DepEd also reminded everyone to “stay vigilant against misinformation.”

The public was urged to refer to verified accounts of DepEd  fb.com/DeparmentOfEducation.PH on Facebook, twitter.com/DepEd_PH on X, instagram.com/depedphilippines on Instagram, and its website: www.deped.gov.ph, for official announcements and information released by the department.

DepEd also encouraged all concerned to report any misleading and suspicious information about basic education to [email protected].
