LPA trough to bring rain showers to Caraga, Davao Region; low chance of rain over the rest of the Philippines
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, April 21 warned that flash floods or landslides are possible in parts of Mindanao due to the trough or extension of the low pressure area (LPA) outside the country’s area of responsibility.

In PAGASA’s Sunday morning public forecast, weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the LPA, located 555 kilometers (km) southeast of General Santos City, has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
However, the LPA’s trough may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers or thunderstorms to Caraga and Davao Region where flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said hot and humid weather will continue to prevail in Northern and Central Luzon, as the ridge of a high pressure area, or an anti-cyclone system, will continue to affect the country.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public of flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Based on the PAGASA’s extended weather outlook from April 22 to 24, air temperatures in some key areas will be 24–36°C in Metro Manila, 24-38°C in Tuguegarao City, 26-33°C in Legazpi City, 17–26°C in Baguio City, 26–32°C in Metro Cebu, 27–33°C in Iloilo City, 26–33°C in Tacloban City, 26–33°C in Metro Davao, 24–34°C in Zamboanga City, and 24–33°C in Cagayan de Oro City.
