"Eat Bulaga" co-host Bossing Vic Sotto said fans should know the difference between "kaaway" (enemy) and "kalaban" (competition). He reiterated that they remain friendly with their rival on the noontime slot "It's Showtime" because it's all "part of life."

"Never namin silang kaaway. Katapat, kalaban pwede...pero iba yung kaaway namin, alam nyo na kung sino yun," he pointed out, referring to their former producer with whom they had a legal tussle.

(They were never our enemy. Our opponent, competition, maybe. When you talk about our enemy, you already know who it is.)

Vic commented that "friendly competition" characterizes the relationship of "Eat Bulaga" hosts to their "It's Showtime" counterparts.

He added that he was willing to make a movie with "It's Showtime" host Vice Ganda as he dropped hints about joining the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival. "It's possible, but in the future. Wala naman akong pinipili."

Referring to the battle for the ratings between the 'Eat Bulaga' and 'It's Showtime', Vic stressed: "Ilang taon na kaming magkatapat. Nandyan yung mananalo kami, or  mananalo sila. Yan ang nagpapasaya ng tanghalian ng Pilipino eh, so at the end of the day, dapat masaya lang tayo,"

(We've been opponents for years. There are times when we win or they win. This is what brings joy to the Filipino lunchtime crowd. We should all be just happy.)

Bossing Vic was interviewed during the intermission of  Eat Bulaga's live broadcast, during which family members gave a touching tribute to him in anticipation of his 70th birthday on April 28.

He noted that this year's celebration is "happier and more meaningful," especially after 'Eat Bulaga' hurdled the challenges they faced in the past year and transferred to TV5, their new network.

TVJ Productions has announced that preparations are underway for the grand 45th-year celebration of 'Eat Bulaga,' making it the longest-running show in Philippine history.

This further dispels rumors that the show is being canceled due to financial losses, which was quickly refuted by "Tito Sen" Sotto and Joey De Leon. Recently, a report showed that Eat Bulaga earned an income of half a billion pesos in advertising revenues from June to December 2023.

Bossing Vic refused to comment on income matters. "Wala akong alam dyan. Alam ko nakakapagpasaya tayo, nakakatulong tayo kahit papaano at masaya ako sa ginagawa ko."

"Kaya ngayong senior na ako, mas lalo ko pang pasasalamatan ang lahat ng mga tao," he quipped.

(I don't know anything about that. All I know is that we make people happy, we help others and I'm happy with what I do. Now that I'm a senior, the more I will thank other people.)

He noted that today's audience are discerning and can easily recognize if "fake news" is being peddled.

"Alam mo, matatalino na ang mga tao ngayon. Matalino ang mga kababayan natin. Madaling mahalata kung fake news. At hindi naman tumatagal. After a while, lalabas din ang katotohanan na fake news  pala," he stated.

(Our countrymen these days are very intelligent. They can easily recognize fake news. And it doesn't last long. After a while, the truth is that it's just fake news.)

His last message to the so-called 'Eat Bulaga' trolls is this: "Ipagpatuloy nyo lang yan para patuloy din ang pagsikat namin!" (Continue with what you're doing so that we will become more famous!)
