Style Weekend Beauty Forum: What’s inside your summer essential kit?

These beauty girls share their secrets

These days, we are experiencing intense heat, more than what we need for summer days. With that, Style Weekend asked some of your favorite beauty girls what’s inside their essential beauty kit this summer.

Nica Reyes, makeup artist

First, don't ditch the moisturizer just because it's hot. Summer sun and heat can dry out your skin, so a lightweight formula is key. I’m currently loving Drunk Elephant Protini Cream. It's a gel-like moisturizer that hydrates without feeling sticky, and it even has peptides to help strengthen the skin barrier.

Next, if you prefer a no-makeup makeup look, Nars Pure Tinted Moisturizer is your friend. It provides sheer, buildable coverage while keeping your skin hydrated and protected with SPF 30. Plus, it has vitamin C for a touch of brightness.

Lastly, don't forget your lips. Summer sun can zap moisture from your lips, too. So, Nars Soft Matte Tinted Lip Balms are fit for adding a hint of color while keeping your lips hydrated.

Celestial skin sunblock. My number one summer beauty essential is sunblock. I like this gel sunblock because it’s lightweight, not sticky, and leaves a powder finish on my face.

I Dew Care Face Cooling Roller. I keep it in the fridge or leave it inside an ice bucket for five to 10 minutes before I use it. I love using this because it keeps me refreshed and helps close my pores.

Happy Skin Volcanic Oil Control Roller. I love this because I don’t have to keep buying oil films since this oil control roller is washable and reusable.

Clocheflame DND SPF50 sunscreen. I have been using this SPF since it was launched and have repurchased it twice. It's lightweight, not sticky and I can truly apply it all over my face because it doesn't sting my eyes. I've worn it on multiple beach vacations and never got an ounce of sunburn.

Issy Solar Balm (in shade promiscuous). I have issues with a lot of SPF lip balms because I find that they taste weird, which often results in me not wearing SPF on my lips. I was really happy when I tried the Issy solar balms because they don't have any of that weird sunscreen aftertaste. I always have one in my bag with me to reapply when I'm outside running errands

GRWM brow lift maxx. I try to be a pretty active person and use my own feet as my primary mode of transportation so in this heat I'm not really wearing makeup as it would melt off my face in seconds, but I refuse to leave the house without wearing eyebrow gel. A few people recommended the GRWM one when I started on TikTok, and I've been using it ever since. I love that it holds my brows in place even through a workout or a scorching hot day.

Sunscreen. You have to be protected from the sun to avoid skin damage due to UV exposure.

Then lip balm. My lips can easily get dry even though I keep myself hydrated. At night, I apply lip oil for overnight treatment so that I’ll have hydrated lips when I wake up.

Lastly, deodorant, hindi pwedeng maganda ka lang tingnan dapat maganda rin yung amoy mo, dapat mabango ka. This summer you have to make sure that you’re fresh all day-long.

There you go. We hope you can pick one or two that keep you looking fresh and hydrated this summer.
