Police net P3.3-M shabu, marijuana in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera seized over P3.3 million worth of shabu and marijuana and arrested five suspected drug pushers in the provinces of Abra and Kalinga and Baguio City on April 19.

Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., PRO-Cordillera chief, said the Abra Police Provincial Office arrested a 22-year-old man who was listed as a high-value individual and an 18-year-old student tagged as a street-level individual after they sold 0.8 grams of suspected shabu valued at P5,440 to a poseur-buyer. 

They also yielded 0.3 grams of shabu worth P2,024 and dried marijuana leaves weighing 11.8 grams valued at P1,416.

In Baguio City, two drug pushers were caught after they sold 15 grams of shabu valued at P102,000 in Barangay Irisan.

Also apprehended was a 38-year-old female drug pusher in Purok 5, Middle Quirino Hill. Recovered from her was 0.55 grams of shabu worth P3,470.

Police seized and destroyed 16,000 fully-grown marijuana plants valued at P3.2 million in an eradication operation in Kalinga.
