Palace orders all gov't agencies to support 2024 National Crime Prevention Program

Malacañang has directed all government agencies to support the implementation of the 2024 National Crime Prevention Program (NCPP) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) consistent with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 46 on April 18 and it took effect immediately.
MC 46 said it was "necessary for all government agencies and instrumentalities, as well as local government units (LGUs), to support and cooperate in the implementation of the 2024 NCPP."
The 2024 NCPP aims to provide cross-cutting strategies to foster safe communities, protect the rights of Filipinos, and reduce the prevalence of criminal activities in the country, which is aligned with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.
The DILG submitted the 2024 NCPP to President Marcos on Feb. 22, 2024.
Malacañang designated the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) as the lead agency in the implementation of the 2024 NCPP.
Meanwhile, the LGUs are encouraged to support the implementation of the 2024 NCPP, as well as related programs, activities, and projects.
