Nightclub DJ shot dead in Cebu City

CEBU CITY â€“ A disc jockey of a nightclub was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in Barangay Cogon-Ramos here on Saturday, April 20.

Police identified the fatality as Junrey Garces Jimeno, 27, a resident of Barangay Tinago here.

The attack happened just outside the bar on Gen. Maxilom Ave. where the victim worked.

Police said that the victim and his co-worker were about to go home and were walking toward a parking area when the assailant struck.

Police said as the victim walked towards the parking area to get the motorcycle of his co-worker, a man arrived and without a word shot the victim in the head.

The suspect fled after the attack, leaving the victim sprawled on the ground.

The victim was already dead when operatives of the Abellana Police Station 2 headed by Police Major Mark Don Alfred Leanza arrived.

Police are still investigating the incident to identify the assailant and the determine the motive of the killing.
