‘Flavors of NCR’ festival in Muntinlupa showcases delectable food products 


From lechon pares to kalderetang itik, the “Flavors of NCR” food festival in Muntinlupa showcased products from the 16 cities and one municipality in the National Capital Region. 

Muntinlupa is the host of the third “Flavors of NCR” that aims to showcase different food products from Metro Manila .

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon led the opening of the festival on April 19 at the Central Park of Filinvest City in Alabang. 

Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano graced the ceremony together with Department of Tourism-NCR Regional Director Sharlene Zabala-Batin, Association of Tourism Officers-NCR headed by Manila City Tourism chief Charlie Dungo, and Pasay City chief of staff Peter Eric Pardo.  

A program of the Association of Tourism Officers-NCR, the festival is being hosted this year by Muntinlupa through its Tourism, Culture, & the Arts Department (TCAD). 

This is the third year of “Flavors of NCR” to highlight food products from Manila, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig, Valenzuela and the municipality of Pateros. 

Showcased at the festival are different food products from NCR including kalderatang itik, lechon pares, siomai, inihaw na tenga, itlog na pula, fried chicken, halo-halo, pastil, BBQ, balut sa puti, and ginataang buko bilo-bilo.

“In Metro Manila, it all starts here,” said Zabala-Batin. 

“Ma-e-encounter n’yo rito ang iba’t ibang delicacies from different cities in Metro Manila. Akala mo ordinary food pero may twist! (You will encounter different delicacies here from different cities in Metro Manila. You would think it’s ordinary food but it is with a twist!). You have to discover it for yourself,” said Biazon.

“Flavors of NCR” will run until April 20.
