First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has bared her plans to replicate the Presidential Museum in Malacañan's Teus Mansion in Baguio to give Filipino youth and tourists a glimpse of a piece of the country's history.

In an interview with broadcaster Anthony Taberna on his YouTube channel, the First Lady said she wanted tourists and the country's youth to become aware of the Philippines' history, especially its past leaders.
One way of doing that is to replicate the Presidential Museum in Malacañan's Teus Mansion which features exhibits about the country's past leaders and gets 6,000 monthly visitors.
"I noticed the youth, they don’t know history. Basta bakbakan, bakbakan. So, ngayon, since hit na hit yung sa Teus, idu-duplicate namin sa (They just keep on fighting. So, since the Teus Mansion is such a hit, we want to replicate it in the) Baguio Mansion House," she said.
"Ilalagay namin dyan. Para lahat ng turista sa Baguio, makikita nila (We'll put it there so that the tourists in Baguio can see it)," she added.
Just like the Teus Mansion, the First Lady said entry to the Presidential Museum in Baguio City would also be free of charge.
According to Araneta-Marcos, it was important for Filipinos to know their leaders.
"How naman can you love your country kung hindi mo mahal yung presidente mo (if you don't love your president)," she said.
"Tapos, bawal sa kanila, like, in Bangkok, (they're not allowed) to talk bad about whoever the leader is. They're very educated. Because they know their past," she added.
The establishment of the Presidential Museum in the Teus Mansion was one of the First Lady's projects. Another is the Bahay Ugnayan in Malacañan which features the "Road to Malacañang" exhibit that showcases President Marcos' journey to the presidency.
According to the First Lady, the Road to Malacañang in Bahay Ugnayan would be dismantled once a new president is elected.
"When na-proclaim na (we proclaim) the next President, aalisin namin lahat 'yan, ilalagay yung bagong president (we will remove everything there and we will install an exhibit about the new president)," she said.
"So, there’s 30 days, oy, alamin niyo naman yun yung bagong Presidente ninyo. Pero huwag nyo nyo na i-bash (We have 30 days. I'll tell the people to learn about the new president, but don't bash them anymore)," she added.
Araneta-Marcos explained that it was important for the current president to have his or her own exhibit.
"There’s a study kasi. The reason why Filipinos always make bato (attack) the new president, is because they don’t know anything about the president," she said.
"So, we put this museum kay Bong, di ba? But if you look at it, lahat cut and paste. So, pag, when the, the, the, after the inauguration, aalisin namin lahat 'yan (everything is cut and paste. So after the inauguration, we'll remove all of it)," she added.
