A woman centenarian is the latest recipient of the P10,000 cash incentive from the local government of the Art Capital of the Country municipality.
Gregoria M. Reyes, a resident of Barangay Kalayaan, Angono, Rizal personally received the monetary gift from the representative of Angono Mayor, Jeri Mae Calderon, at her house on April 18.
Although the mayor’s office did not mention when Reyes exactly turned 100, what was certain was that the giving of the cash incentive to the centenarian woman happened as a result of a local legislation that was approved and signed by Mayor Calderon.

The giving of P10,000 cash gift from the Angono municipal government is separate from the incentive that the national government is giving by virtue of Republic Act (RA) 10868 or the Centenarian Act of 2016.
Based on the RA 10868, all Filipino centenarians, whether residing in the country or abroad are entitled to get the P100,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and receive a letter of felicitation from the President of the Philippines.
The giving of cash gift and certificate of recognition from Mayor Calderon was witnessed by the centenarian’s family members and representatives of the municipal government.
Reyes, and a centenarian from Taytay, Rizal- Adelaida Cullano Rabi, are among the latest centenarians who are awaiting the P100,000 cash gift and a letter from President Marcos, Jr., as mandated by RA 10868.
