Ali Sotto joins NET25's Mata ng Agila Primetime as its new co-anchor

Mata ng Agila Primetime, NET25’s top-rated evening news program, has a new co-anchor: Ali Sotto.

The broadcasting industry veteran will man the most coveted news desk alongside the show’s mainstay anchor, fellow journalism stalwart Alex Santos.

After creating an enduring name in the Philippine entertainment world, Sotto is now regarded as one of only a few to successfully transition into the highly competitive news and public affairs arena.

As anchor and host, the multi-awarded Sotto has led various high-profile news coverages, trending human interest stories, and even multiple presidential elections via a slew of long-running and iconic television and radio news and public affairs programs, including NET25’s trending morning show, ASPN: Ano Sa Palagay N’yo?

Having crafted his own career as a young television reporter and news presenter in Davao, Alex Santos soon saw his journalistic endeavors take him from local news commentator, editor, and director to one of the country’s most respected anchors courtesy of a string of multi-platform newscasts and coverage.
He now considers NET25 his home while headlining the station’s public affairs investigative TV and radio top rater, Responde.

“Thank you, (Ali), for accepting this (job) as I know that our Alex-Ali tandem will surely deliver truthful news, and I look forward, also, to this long-lasting partnership,” Alex adds in a sit-down interview opposite Ms. Sotto.

When asked about her sentiments on getting back in the anchor’s saddle again, Ali has this to proclaim.

“I see this as a huge privilege, another chance given to me by our countrymen- to serve them. I want to thank our NET25 management for the trust, for choosing me, and for offering the chance to spend the night with our viewers as we deliver the most honest news in the Santos-Sotto way. You can depend on that.”
