Whooping cough outbreak declared in Santa Rosa City, Laguna


CITY OF SANTA ROSA, Laguna – The city government has declared an outbreak of pertussis or whooping cough here.

The city council approved Local Health Board Resolution No. 1, Series of 2024, declaring an outbreak on Monday, April 1, after 13 cases were recorded.

The City Health Office has ramped up vaccination and distribution of prophylaxis to infants and children to contain the outbreak.

Mayor Arlene Arcillas here assured that they are undertaking continuous preventive measures against pertussis.

She reminded parents to follow health protocols to avoid pertussis.
