P15-M shabu, marijuana seized in Cordillera

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet â€“ Police seized shabu and marijuana worth P15 million and arrested 10 suspected drug pushers in the Cordillera region from March 24 to 30.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera said the suspects who were caught during buy-bust operations yielded a total of 12.30 grams of suspected shabu valued at P83,640.

The Benguet Police Provincial Office nabbed six suspects and the Baguio City Police Office and Ifugao PPO two each. Seven were streel-level individuals and three were high-value individuals.

On the other hand, 32,170 fully grown marijuana plants, 500 marijuana seedlings, 70,000 marijuana stalks, and one kilo of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops valued at P14.9 million were seized during eradication operations in 11 plantations in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga.

These were burned after proper documentation and follow-up operations are underway to locate other marijuana plantation sites and cultivators in the two provinces.
